Don and Don for PTL.....RADIO ACTION SOUND TRACK OF THE SIXTIES 167 - February 16-18
February 16, 2018 06:00 AM PST
Friends: Here we are at the end of another week. And on Fridays, we flashback the '60's and count down a survey from a week during that decade.
So, here comes the week of March 6, 1965 and a dedication of this program to long time radio guy, Fred Latrimouille who recently passed away after a distinguished career in radio here in Vancouver.
So, join us for the count down - then Al drops by with Canadian Reflections - and for the last 30 minutes we turn to the Radio Action Juke Box.
An action packed show - give us a click and find out for yourself.
Cheers for Sound Track of the Sixties and Radio Action
Don and Al.....RADIO ACTION ROCK AND TALK (Platter and Chatter) 526 - February 14-18
February 14, 2018 02:46 PM PST
Friends: Welcome to the mid-week Rock and Talk Program from Radio Action. Yes, we recognize that today is Valentines Day - and hope that you recognize that special person in your life in some significant way.
The program does not mention Valentines Day as we know that by the time most listeners get a chance to drop by, the day is long gone. Also, programs that are posted here on the internet are not broadcast by our radio partners until next week.
So, a "normal" program of Rock and Talk for everyone!
And we do hope you enjoy your stay with us.
Thanks for dropping by - now give us a click!
Don and Al for Radio Action.....RADIO ACTION ROCK, ROLL AND REMEMBER 143 - February 13-18
February 13, 2018 01:41 PM PST
Friends: Hello and welcome to TUESDAY - yesterday was a STATUTORY HOLIDAY here in British Columbia and we were all off for a FAMILY DAY. Interestingly, this is NOT a national day off - most provinces in Canada will celebrate FAMILY DAY next Monday - and Al will be "off" next Monday. But as LEFT COASTERS, we just have to be a bit different.
But that is a debate for another day.
So, a day late, here is the week's Rock, Roll and Remember program.
We have some great music once again - and you SHOULD listen.
Give us a click and welcome to our program.
Cheers for a Tuesday beginning of a short week.

Don and Al for Sound Track and Radio Action.....RADIO ACTION ROCK AND TALK (Platter and Chatter) 525 - February 7-18
February 07, 2018 06:00 AM PST
Friends: Welcome to another milestone for Radio Action. Yes, today marks the 12th Anniversary of Radio Action and our presence on the internet.
Twelve years ago today we posted our very first podcast - a 25 minute introduction to what was then CKW - which morphed into RADIO ACTION some years later.
Over the years we have grown - from 75 minute weekly programs to 120 minute shows - one, two and then three per week.
Some formats have changed but over the 12 years the foundation of this show remains as solid as it was back in the beginning.
So, join us for this program. Al was here right from the start and is still heard on the 20's with Retrospective and again at 50 with Sports. James is here with Motown and More around the 25 minute point of hour one, and Michael drops in with Rock and Roll News at the top of hour two.
Why mess with success - have a listen. We know you will like what you hear.
Thanks for keeping us active for the past 12!
Cheers for now.
Al and Don for Radio Action.....RADIO ACTION ROCK, ROLL AND REMEMBER 142 - February 5-18
February 05, 2018 01:45 PM PST
Friends: Welcome to the beginning of another Radio Action broadcast week. As is customary, we get things rolling with the Rock, Roll and Remember Program - a collection of hits from the 60's, 70's and yes, even into the 80's
We do hope you will give us a click and stay for the two hour duration of this program.
Al Murphy is here with his Memory Lane segments at the bottom of both hours and in between, I play some of the music that will tug at the memory bank - guaranteed!
Thanks for listening. Enjoy the program.
Cheers for now.

Listening to the music of our youth is fun! It brings back a ton or memories. It gives us music to sing along with. Music to dance to. Music to tap out the beat. The best music of all time.
And it is all right here - Radio Action and Sound Track of the Sixties.
Give us a click and enjoy the show.

And to those who have come over from the radio, welcome to you. Thanks for giving us the click!
It is now time to ROCK AND TALK - "CLICK!"
Don and Al for Radio Action.....
Three times each week, Big Daddy Donald Roberts and the swinging men from the Action Den, bring you GOLDEN OLDIES from the studios of Radio Action. Listen to some of the greatest music of all time with emphasis on the '60's and '70's.
During the Radio Action ROCK AND TALK program, Al Murphy visits on the 20's with RETROSPECTIVE - a 20/20 look back on issues of interest to Al, and hopefully you as well. Al also returns later in the program with SPORT DE JOUR - a look at everything "sport."
Michael Godin from Treasure Island Oldies stops by at the top of the hour with ROCK AND ROLL NEWS and James Murphy, all the way from Cambridge England, provides listeners with spectacular "choons" during his MISSING IN ACTION segment heard at the 25 minute mark of the first hour of the show.
Yours truly, Big Daddy fills in all the gaps with light banter and awesome music.
Radio Action - ROCK, ROLL AND REMEMBER is a program of mostly music that will keep you rocking and rolling - a fast paced two hours of some of the greatest hits of all time.
And Radio Action - SOUND TRACK OF THE SIXTIES looks at that incredible decade of music, featuring all the hits of our youth in a fast moving hour (plus) of survey countdowns. It is a blast!
Big Daddy Donald Roberts: I am a retired print plant manager, who has a love of music and radio - in 1967 I went to broadcasting school, and earned my diploma. Then real life kicked in, and I found a job at a printing company, where I stayed for the next 38 years. I have always had some kind of home studio, and it is there where donspodradio was born. Now I can do what I love, and do it for people who also love the music and listen to the program each week. Al Murphy is also a retiree from the same company - I was in Manufacturing and he in Human Resources! Al resides in Fergus, Ontario, which is a little bit west of Toronto - I on the other hand, live in Coquitlam, British Columbia, a bedroom community of Vancouver. When I started the donspodradio websites back in February, 2006, Al was the very first visitor - it wasn't long before he had recorded some promos for the station, and as they say, the rest is history. Now, every week Al drops by on the 20's with RETROSPECTIVE - his look back at issues of interest to him, and I hope, you as well. Every once in a while, Al either co-hosts a program, or takes over entirely - and his love of the music and information of the times shows through! It takes a bit of engineering to stretch the string tight between the two tin can microphones that link our studios, but it is well worth the effort as I am sure you will agree. So, please join us weekly, as we rock to the sounds of GREAT OLDIES - 5 hours each week right here! Over 8 years in podcasting, and still going strong! We hope you enjoy the weekly program and will take the time to email us at email@example.com or through this service provider. Rock on. The Real Big Daddy, Donald Roberts, and the Little Irishman, Al Murphy.
