RADIO ACTION ROCK AND TALK (a little Platter and a little Chatter) 499 - June 21-17
June 21, 2017 06:10 AM PDT
Friends: Here we are mid-week with the 499th edition of the "flagship" program from Radio Action - formerly CKW (a production of DonsPodRadio).
It seems almost fitting that next week we hit the 500th program and the end of the broadcast schedule for Radio Action until the fall. We go into summer with 500 programs "in the can".
Now well past the 11th anniversary of this little hobby, we are happy with where we are right now.
Internet traffic to the site(s) is steady and growing! Feedback from the radio stations that run our work is very positive. And even after all the programs we have produced over 11 years and counting, we are still having fun!
So, join us please as we spend two hours Rocking and Talking - and having fun!
Cheers for a Wednesday.

Don.....RADIO ACTION SOUND TRACK OF THE SIXTIES - 139 - June 2-17
June 02, 2017 06:00 AM PDT
Friends: This week, our Flashback Friday Sound Track of the Sixties features the count down of the top 20 tunes from the C-FUN music radio survey from June 23, 1963.
You have to know there were some pretty special tracks on this survey and we have them all in descending order, from 20 all the way to 1. With a couple of TWIN PICK HITS as well as Al's 60's Fast Facts and James' 60's Sleeper.
At the conclusion of the countdown, I turn to the Radio Action Juke Box for a random selection of hits - and of course, at the bottom of the second hour, Al drops by with his very popular CANADIAN REFLECTIONS segment - where he spins two hits made popular by Canadian artists.
All in all, a very fast paced two hours of podcast/broadcast radio.
We do hope you will give us a CLICK - be prepared to travel back in time - and maybe relive those memorable years of your youth.
Cheers for now!
Three times each week, Big Daddy Donald Roberts and the swinging men from the Action Den, bring you GOLDEN OLDIES from the studios of Radio Action. Listen to some of the greatest music of all time with emphasis on the '60's and '70's.
During the Radio Action ROCK AND TALK program, Al Murphy visits on the 20's with RETROSPECTIVE - a 20/20 look back on issues of interest to Al, and hopefully you as well. Al also returns later in the program with SPORT DE JOUR - a look at everything "sport."
Michael Godin from Treasure Island Oldies stops by at the top of the hour with ROCK AND ROLL NEWS and James Murphy, all the way from Cambridge England, provides listeners with spectacular "choons" during his MISSING IN ACTION segment heard at the 25 minute mark of the first hour of the show.
Yours truly, Big Daddy fills in all the gaps with light banter and awesome music.
Radio Action - ROCK, ROLL AND REMEMBER is a program of mostly music that will keep you rocking and rolling - a fast paced two hours of some of the greatest hits of all time.
And Radio Action - SOUND TRACK OF THE SIXTIES looks at that incredible decade of music, featuring all the hits of our youth in a fast moving hour (plus) of survey countdowns. It is a blast!
Big Daddy Donald Roberts: I am a retired print plant manager, who has a love of music and radio - in 1967 I went to broadcasting school, and earned my diploma. Then real life kicked in, and I found a job at a printing company, where I stayed for the next 38 years. I have always had some kind of home studio, and it is there where donspodradio was born. Now I can do what I love, and do it for people who also love the music and listen to the program each week. Al Murphy is also a retiree from the same company - I was in Manufacturing and he in Human Resources! Al resides in Fergus, Ontario, which is a little bit west of Toronto - I on the other hand, live in Coquitlam, British Columbia, a bedroom community of Vancouver. When I started the donspodradio websites back in February, 2006, Al was the very first visitor - it wasn't long before he had recorded some promos for the station, and as they say, the rest is history. Now, every week Al drops by on the 20's with RETROSPECTIVE - his look back at issues of interest to him, and I hope, you as well. Every once in a while, Al either co-hosts a program, or takes over entirely - and his love of the music and information of the times shows through! It takes a bit of engineering to stretch the string tight between the two tin can microphones that link our studios, but it is well worth the effort as I am sure you will agree. So, please join us weekly, as we rock to the sounds of GREAT OLDIES - 5 hours each week right here! Over 8 years in podcasting, and still going strong! We hope you enjoy the weekly program and will take the time to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or through this service provider. Rock on. The Real Big Daddy, Donald Roberts, and the Little Irishman, Al Murphy.
